Toronto-born stand-up comic and TV personality Howie Mandel made waves on the reality singing competition series America’s Got Talent. He took over as judge when actor David Hasselhoff left the show. This has been his ongoing gig lasting over a decade. But thanks to the season breaks, Mandel can still pursue his passion for comedy. This fall, he’s embarking on a multiple-city tour to deliver his latest stand-up set. Little did viewers know that Mandel has a long track record of making people laugh. In 1983, he dropped his first comedy special, The First Howie Mandel Special, where he was a writer and producer. Four years later, he released his second comedy special, Howie from Maui. It would take Mandel over ten years to release another comedy special due to having numerous opportunities, such as working as an executive producer for numerous TV shows. He also appeared in Bless This House and Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.
In 1997, Mandel dropped his third comedy special, Howie Mandel on Ice. Nine years later, Mandel came out with Howie Mandel Live. Aside from stand-up comedy, he also has numerous other gigs, including hosting Deal or No Deal Canada, appearing in WWE Raw, My Name is Earl and Monk. He also appeared on MADtv and Medium. Last year, Mandel joined Canada’s Got Talent as a judge. Mandel also made notable guest appearances in Last Comic Standing, Impractical Jokers, Roadtrip Nation, Robot Chicken, and The X Factor: Celebrity.
This fall, Mandel will conquer Hackensack Meridian Health Theatre for one night on Thursday, 16th November 2023. Since 1926, the 1,500-capacity concert hall has been home to New Jersey’s most exciting shows. The theater has undergone millions of dollars worth of renovations, the most recent one being in 2017.
