Hackensack Meridian Health Theatre Rules

As with any live performance venue, there is a list of important rules and regulations that all guests are required to follow. These have been put in place by the theatre to ensure all concerts and shows can go ahead and be enjoyed without any disruptions.

To ensure the safety of all patrons and guests, Hackensack Meridian Health Theatre has created the following code of conduct and policy guidelines. Please review and follow the rules and policies below as failure to abide by them may result in expulsion from the venue without refund.

If you have any questions, please contact the box office at 732-842-9000.

General rules

The theatre has a basic code of conduct similar to what you’d find in other theatres. Professional cameras and recording equipment are not allowed unless you have media approval. During plays or shows, flash photography will not be permitted. You should also keep in mind that outside food and beverages are not permitted inside the venue.

Age restrictions

Please note that some events may have age restrictions. Guests may need to show photo identification to enter. This is especially important for performances designated as 18+ or 21+. It’s recommended that you check the event details before purchasing tickets to avoid disappointment.

Children Policy

All patrons require a ticket to Count Basie Center for the Arts performances, regardless of age.

Accessibility Policy

The Hackensack Meridian Health Theatre is proud to provide reasonable ADA-compliant assistance to guests in need. This includes wheelchair and companion seating available in the rear sections of the orchestra level, automatic doors, and ADA restrooms. Service animals are welcome and sign language interpreters are available upon request if you call the venue at 732-842-9000 at least two weeks before a ticketed event’s start date.

Arrival Policy

For concerts and certain special events, late arrivals may be asked to wait in the lobby until an appropriate break period arrives. To avoid frustrations, please arrive no later than 30 minutes before an event’s start time.

Before entering the venue, guests will be required to pass through a security checkpoint with metal detectors. Please give yourself extra time to make sure you don’t miss the show.

Bag Policy

Large bags should not be brought to the venue or must be left in guest vehicles. All bags are subject to search by event staff.

Camera Policy

Flash photography, video or audio recording devices, and professional cameras with detachable lenses are strictly prohibited for all performances. Standard or nonprofessional cameras are only allowed if both the venue and artist provides public authorization and will be noted in the program guide or description.

Cancellation Policy

The venue is proud of hosting events rain or shine. In the case of severe weather or unexpected closures, the venue will attempt to announce it to all guests as soon as possible. If your show is canceled, please call 732-842-9000 to discuss potential refunds.

Food and Beverage Policy

Outside food and beverages are not allowed in the venue. The Count Basie Center for the Arts offers several, full-service bars to patrons age 21 and older, serving beer, wine, and spirits before and during performances. Popcorn, candy and bagged chips/snacks are also served.

Lost and Found Policy

Lost an item at an event? You can check in with the event staff to see if anything has been returned. You can also email 732-842-9000 after the show. Please be prepared to leave your full name, contact information, and a detailed description of your lost item.

Hackensack Meridian Health Theatre does not claim responsibility for your lost possessions.
